I’m a Dreamer. I’m Also a Doer.
Hi, I’m Mandy Florence Mahon, the accountability coach behind Better Call Mandy.

I’m a dreamer.
I dream big. I get excited about possibilities. I have ideas about what life could look like, things I want to accomplish, places I want to go and experiences I want to create.
But somewhere along the way, I learned something incredibly important:
Dreams are wonderful. Dreams with action can change your life.
I learned to capture those dreams.
Put them on the vision board.
Turn them into goals.
Build a plan.
Focus.
And then hold myself accountable for actually doing the things I said I was going to do.
That journey eventually became much bigger than me.
It became what I do.
Where My Story Changed
There are moments in life that change how you see everything that comes afterwards.
For me, one of those moments came after the birth of my twins.
My son passed away when he was just eight days old.
I was left raising his twin sister, and something changed inside me.
I became incredibly conscious of time.
Of opportunities.
Of the difference between the things we say we’re going to do someday and the things we actually make happen.

I had this wonderful little girl watching me grow alongside her, and I became accountable not only to myself, but to her.
I became intensely focused on my goals.
Not because every minute of every day suddenly became perfectly productive. It didn’t.
Not because life became easy. It hadn’t.
But because I understood how precious our time really is.
I wanted dreams.
I wanted adventures.
I wanted goals that seemed slightly ridiculous.
And I wanted my daughter to grow up seeing that you don’t have to leave those dreams sitting on a vision board.
You can do something about them.
Then Something Unexpected Happened
As I became more deliberate about my own goals, people noticed.
Friends, colleagues and people I interacted with began asking questions.
How are you getting all of this done?
How do you stay focused?
Can you help me figure this out?
And, increasingly:
Will you hold me accountable too?
It wasn’t something I had originally set out to turn into a business.
It grew organically from the way I was living my own life and the conversations I was having with other people.
I discovered that I loved helping someone take an idea that had been bouncing around inside their head and turn it into something tangible.
Something with a plan.
Something with actions.
Something we could actually measure.
And something I was absolutely going to ask them about again.
I Left a 17-Year Career to Do This
For 17 years, I worked at Utah Valley University.
Leaving a career after that long wasn’t a small decision.
But eventually I had to apply the same question to myself that I now ask through accountability coaching:
If this is really what you want, what are you going to do about it?

So I did something rather significant.
I left.
I stepped away from the career I’d known for 17 years and started building something different.
And I haven’t looked back.
That doesn’t mean every decision since has been perfect.
Accountability isn’t about constructing a perfect life where everything happens exactly according to the planner.
It’s about knowing where you’re trying to go, understanding why it matters and continuing to take action.
That’s what I did.
And it’s what I now help other people do.
From Dreams to Goals to Action
I still have vision boards.
I still dream.
In fact, I think dreaming is incredibly important.
The difference is that I don’t want those dreams to live permanently on the wall.
Capture the dream.
Understand why it matters.
Turn it into a goal.
Build a plan.
Decide what you’re doing this quarter.
Decide what you’re doing this week.
Take action.
Review what happened.
Adjust.
Keep going.
That’s the mindset behind my accountability coaching.
Because the difference between a vision board and your actual life is everything that happens after you stick the picture on it.
I’ve Helped People Work Toward All Kinds of Goals
One of the things I love most about accountability coaching is that there isn’t one type of person who needs accountability.
I’ve worked with hundreds of people around accountability and mindset, alongside thousands of people through health coaching.

And the goals people bring with them can be wonderfully different.
I’ve worked with people building businesses and careers, continuing their education, strengthening relationships, developing web applications, managing complex projects and completing their studies.
I’ve worked with web application developers, project managers, students, nature schools, artisan bakers, artists and athletes.
Some goals are enormous.
Some sound relatively ordinary.
Both can matter enormously to the person pursuing them.
My job isn’t to decide which dreams are worthy enough.
It’s to help create the structure, mindset, focus and accountability that can turn an intention into consistent action.
Accountability and Mindset
Accountability isn’t punishment.
I’m not here to wag my finger at you because Tuesday didn’t go according to plan.
Life happens.
Plans change.
Priorities move.
Sometimes we discover that the original plan wasn’t particularly good in the first place.
Accountability means being willing to look at what actually happened.
What worked?
What didn’t?
What got in the way?
What can we learn from it?
What happens next?
Mindset matters because one difficult week doesn’t need to become three difficult months.
You don’t need to throw away the entire plan because something went wrong.
We adjust.
Then we keep moving.
The Three H’s of Better Call Mandy
Today, my business revolves around three H’s:
Homes. Happiness. Health.
Homes is my real estate business, helping people navigate buying, selling and moving.
Health is about helping people make sustainable changes to their health and wellbeing.
And Happiness?
That’s where Accountability Coaching lives.
Not because I can promise that achieving a goal will make every day wonderful.
But because there is something incredibly freeing about making progress on the things you’ve been telling yourself matter.
Procrastination Is Heavy
Have you ever noticed how much mental space an unfinished goal can occupy?
The thing you’re going to start.
The email you’re going to send.
The project you’re going to finish.
The business you’re going to build.
The course you’re going to complete.
The conversation you’re going to have.
You haven’t done it, but you’re still carrying it around.
That’s one of the reasons I connect accountability with Happiness.
When you become accountable to your goals, the weight of procrastination can start to lift.
Instead of constantly thinking:
“I really need to do that…”
you begin doing something about it.
Progress creates momentum.
Momentum creates possibilities.
And suddenly you can feel a little lighter.
You might even feel like you can fly.
I should probably clarify that I cannot actually make you fly.
There are limits to accountability coaching.
What Working With Me Looks Like
My accountability coaching is structured.
We aren’t simply getting together once a week for a motivational chat.
We identify what you’re trying to accomplish.
We explore why it matters.
We build a quarterly plan.
We break that into practical priorities and actions.
And then we meet regularly online to review progress and determine what comes next.
I’ll celebrate the wins with you.
I’ll help you examine what isn’t working.
I’ll ask questions.
I’ll challenge assumptions.
And yes, I’m going to remember what you said you were going to do.
That’s rather the point.
Your Dreams Don’t Have to Stay on the Vision Board
I still believe in dreaming big.
Perhaps more than ever.
But I’ve learned that a dream becomes considerably more interesting when you start taking action toward it.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You don’t need to know exactly what the next year looks like.
You don’t even need to arrive with the perfect goal.
We can start with:
What do you want?
Then we’ll figure out what comes next.
